JEIWA (Johor Intellectual Women Empowerment Association) is a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGOs) targeting women and community empowerment through educational programmes, social transformation, skills development and entrepreneurship.
Since its inception in 2015, JEIWA has organized over 200 programmes throughout Malaysia. One of JEIWA's main programs is in women's empowerment especially through business networking and the growth of the women's economy. We help women include single mothers, domestic violence victims, disabled and urban poor.
On 31 July 2019, JEIWA established a 2,200-square-foot Jeiwa Power House (JPH) at Lot 2F-11, Level 2, Paradigm Mall JB. JPH is the first Community Centre to be in a shopping complex in Malaysia with the facilities of Counselling Room, Training Room, Library, Skills Space for disabled and handicraft arts, training kitchens and business spaces for the target groups and especially for Johorean.
Jeiwa Power House is one of the initiatives and fully organized by JEIWA NGO as a one-stop centre for the community to seek assistance and advice in various aspects of the economy, mental, educational and social aspects. However, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, JEIWA is faced with constraints in organizing activities and providing services to the community directly following the Movement Control Order which limits the number of visitors to the mall thus affecting JEIWA source of income. Prior to this, JEIWA was able to cover the costs of organizing programmes and charitable sales of NGO's products.
We have started a Donation Push cart to help raise funds for our operating costs to continue the Jeiwa Power House function.
