Malaysian CARE was registered in 1979 with tax-exempt status. We are committed to serving the poor and needy irrespective of religion and ethnicity. We focus on empowering the people, aim for long term development and see ourselves as partners to the people we are serving,Our core services are: 1) Rural & Urban Community Development (Orang Asli, East Malaysian natives, urban poor & refugees) - sustainable agriculture, financial literacy, micro-finance, income generation, supplementary & alternative education, and youth development. 2) Prison, Drugs & AIDS services - awareness, recovery, counselling & referral, aftercare, community-based support, youth & juvenile. 3) Special Needs (learning difficulties) - awareness, children services (early intervention, inclusive preschool, school age), adult services (Bridge2Work. Job Coach, Friendship Club); family support & resource services, and training for teachers & parents.
